Two areas in Hertfordshire have been named as “hotspots” in the UK for people returning items ordered online.
Royal Mail says it has seen a 25 percent increase in traffic for returns since lockdown.
It has now revealed that St Albans and Watford are at the top of the list for areas in the country who have had a high return rate.
The findings are based on analysis of tracked returns into the postal service’s network in an average week in the time period between June 29 and August 2.

St Albans came first for the number of returns of ill-fitting or unsuitable items bought online and Watford came second.
Chief commercial officer at Royal Mail, Nick Landon said: “Having analysed our returns data across our national network of deliver offices, St Albans has emerged at the UK’s returns hotspot.
“With e-commerce playing an important role in keeping the UK connected during such unprecedented times, online returns form an even more important part of the online shopping experience for both customers and retailers.”
