The Scunthorpe couple are the first double millionaire National Lottery winners to go public.
They came away with £1million and a dream car after David entered the EuroMillions Mega Friday draw after spotting a sign.
He said: “Last Friday night I was passing the local shop and saw there were ten £1million prizes on EuroMillions and a nice car.
“I thought ‘Yeah I’ll give that a go’. I just had a feeling it was going to be me.
“I always knew I’d win, even the first time. I knew I had a good chance then because there were 100 prizes of £1million.”
When David revealed the couple’s second win Kathleen said: “You said you’d do it again and you have!”
David nearly missed out on his first win in 2013 because he forgot to check his raffle code.
The second time, he was sure to carefully check his lotto ticket first thing in the morning.
He said: “On one line I’d matched two numbers and one star to get £7.20 and thought that’s alright.
“Then I checked the raffle codes – something I’ve learnt to do automatically since winning last time.
“After a few moments I very calmly called Kath in and said ‘Have a look at this. It’s there. Look. Read that line’.
“Kath checked the TV; then she turned on the laptop and checked the website.
“Then she went up right close to our television on the wall, put on her glasses and stared really hard at the raffle numbers.
“It seemed ages and then she finally said ‘You said you’d do it again and you have!’
“Everything has been a blur ever since. It’s definitely taking longer to sink in this time!”
The couple had been battling illness when they won for the first time in 2013.
They used their winnings to retire – and wedded after a 12-year engagement.
David said: “I always told everyone that I’m gonna do it again. I just knew it would be my turn again someday.
“Now it has and we just can’t believe it. Kath and I had a fantastic wedding last year.
“But we never took a honeymoon because I’m just not keen on the idea of flying.
“Kath would love me to book an amazing cruise and I think I have just run out of excuses!”
The couple also won their choice of a dream car – and said they would pick a Range Rover Autobiography or a Jaguar F-Type.
