West Fife – Aberdour villagers face delayed deliveries

The service said that high sickness absence, resourcing pressures and local operational issues at a number of delivery offices have led to issues getting items out on time.

Over 100 postcodes are affected, including the KY3 area, which covers the village of Aberdour.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We understand how frustrating it can be when post does not arrive as expected. The vast majority of mail across Fife is delivered on time, including in Aberdour and Cowdenbeath.

“Where short-term delays do occur, they are typically limited to individual routes and can be caused by temporary factors such as sickness absence, resourcing pressures or severe weather. Scotland has experienced significant winter disruption in recent weeks that have affected services across much of the country.

“Local teams review performance daily and put additional support in place to restore regular deliveries as quickly as possible. We continue to work hard to improve reliability for customers.”
