West Ham Co-Owner Daniel Křetínský to Have No Role in Summer Transfers

Claret & Hugh have learned today that West Ham shareholder Daniel Křetínský will have zero involvement in the club’s upcoming summer transfer window.

Speaking to a senior source earlier today, we were informed that the Czech billionaire — who owns 27% of the club — will not even be consulted on which players arrive or depart during the window.

West Ham are expected to oversee a major clear-out in the coming months, with the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Edson Álvarez, and Lucas Paquetá all potential departures to raise transfer funds. However, it has been revealed that Křetínský will have no input in the decision-making process — aside from signing off on deals worth more than £1m, which are handled by his representative Pavel Horský.

C&H were told this morning: “Křetínský isn’t involved at all — he has bigger fish to fry. He’s not even asked about transfers or stuff like that.”

One of Křetínský’s energy companies, EPH, has recently reported a £3 billion drop in profits, and he is currently preoccupied with his drawn-out takeover bid for Royal Mail — both of which have taken up much of his time.

Still, at a time when West Ham are at arguably their lowest point in years — and in desperate need of investment and strategic leadership — it’s surprising that their wealthiest investor is playing such a limited role in shaping the club’s future.
