West Sussex County Council offices could become flats

Plans submitted to Adur and Worthing councils by developer DBH Worthing propose the conversion of the West Sussex County Council Bridge House offices in Barrington Road, Worthing, into 107 flats, including 71 with one bedroom and 36 with two.

The developer said the flats will provide “good quality living conditions” and will contain “generous floor areas” and “good levels of storage”, including built-in wardrobes.

The flats would also be accompanied by 111 car parking spaces, including 15 accessible spaces, and 116 cycle spaces.

A refuse and recycling store is due to be proposed to the council to accompany the flats in the south-west corner of the site.

A noise impact assessment carried out by Venta Acoustics found that there is “no commercial noise at the site”.

Comments can be submitted up until September 26, while a decision on the application is due by October 30.
