It’s not enough trying to find the perfect gift for everyone at Christmas, you also have to make sure it gets to them in time.

If you’re mailing out cards and presents this year, you’ll need to know the cut-off date for guaranteed Christmas delivery.

After you’ve wrapped them all up – and you can save on paper thanks to a TikTok trick – when do you need to post them?

Last Christmas posting dates

Royal Mail have revealed their last posting dates for guaranteed Christmas delivery in the UK.

The deadline has passed for second class mail – Royal Mail recommended Wednesday 18 December as the last date for guaranteed delivery.

You have until tomorrow, Friday 20 December, to post any items out via first class mail.

Tracked deliveries can be sent on Saturday 21 December.

The very last day for Christmas post is Monday 23 December, if you send it special delivery.

The last dates for posting abroad have already passed.

What days will there be no post?

There will be no delivery and collection service from Christmas Day through to Boxing day, with normal service resuming on Friday 27 December.

On New Year’s Day there will be no deliveries or collections.

January 2 is a bank holiday in Scotland so there are no deliveries or collections then.
