Who needs Meghan? Duchess has fallen out with designer friend Victoria Beckham, but luckily there are plenty of royal fans to still wear her label

Victoria Beckham has long been a favourite of the royals, with Meghan Markle often being snapped in designs by the label.

But it appears the days of the Duchess of Sussex stepping out in the former Spice Girl’s clothes are well and truly over.

For it’s been reported that Prince Harry and Meghan have fallen out with Victoria and her husband David.

The royal couple allegedly had a suspicion that the Beckhams may have leaked stories about them to the press – leaving David ‘absolutely bloody furious.’

However the fall out is unlikely to impact Victoria’s standing in royal circles – for she is still counting as a favourite designer for a number of Queens and Princesses from around the world.

We might be unlikely to see Meghan donning any more of Victoria Beckham’s chic designs due to the supposed tension between the pair (Victoria pictured at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at St George’s Chapel in 2018)

Among those who have worn the designer’s clothing are Meghan’s sister-in-law the Princess of Wales, Queen Letizia of Spain and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

Here FEMAIL reveals the very stylish client base of the former Spice Girl…

Princess of Wales

Much like her sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales has worn Victoria Beckham designs a number of times during her royal career.

Thrifty Kate Middleton, 41, has a collection of items from the designer, and has often been snapped wearing the same items twice.

Among them are a pair of Denim 53MM Square Sunglasses, which she has worn a number of times to Wimbledon, and her Quincy Tote.

But she also wears full outfits from the label for royal engagements as well.

Underneath her Alexander McQueen emerald designer coat, the mother-of-three wore the cream midi dress with a bejewelled belted detail which cinched her in at the waist.

Keeping her jewellery minimal with some £74 gold earrings by Shyla London, Kate opted for a bouncy blow-dry and finished off her outfit with a matching green suede £435 handbag from Manu Atelier.

In perhaps a nod to her bond with the designer, the choice was poignant for the Princess – for she was launching a long-term project.

During her visit to the market, the mother-of-three spoke with vendors who have worked at the market for over 30 years and members of the public about their reflections on the film, which made its big screen debut at a BAFTA event last night.

Queen Letizia

The Queen of Spain is known for her impeccable sense of style, and she often wows in chic ensembles from the designer.

Letizia, 50, stepped out in a favourite Victoria Beckham leopard print midi dress, which she’s worn on two previous occasions, as she attended the World Blindness Summit Madrid in 2021.

No stranger to recycling her favourite looks, the mother-of-two first wore the monochrome enseble to the Princess of Girona Awards in November 2019, and again on a visit to Écija, Sevilla.

The Victoria Beckham dress, which is now out of stock but is available in a skirt of the same pattern, featured a belted detail which highlighted the monarch’s slim waist.

Made up of panels of clashing print, it was an elegant look for the Queen who favours simple cuts and midi length styles.

The royal also wore a £850 green Victoria Beckham dress to Buckingham Palace for the Coronation reception in May this year.

It was a Spring/Summer ’23 collection dress that Bella Hadid debuted on the runway at Paris Fashion Week back in September, and Victoria Beckham herself subsequently modelled on a date night with husband David in New York a few weeks later.

Letizia added navy blue heels by Magrit and a matching bag by Nina Ricci, which is a colour combination that might not immediately spring to mind, but totally works.

The mother-of-four is known for her fashion savvy ways, this time pairing the stunning top with an ivory silk skirt by Birger et Mikkelsen and a pair of nude heels.

So has Meghan Markle ditched her Victoria Beckham designs for good?

The Duchess was often spotted in the Victoria Beckham’s sophisticated designs while living in the UK.

While Meghan previously claimed she couldn’t pull off Victoria’s dresses due to her ‘short torso’, she regularly wore the designer during her time in the royal family.

In fact, she even opted for an outfit by the British designer for her appearance at Sandringham in Christmas 2019.

Meghan stepped out wearing a top-to-toe navy ensemble, opting for a £1,250 v-neck knitted sweater dress from Victoria’s Pre-Fall ’18 collection, and following the designer’s online recommendation to pair it with boots.

The former Spice Girl turned fashion designer later appeared on American talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan and admitted it came as a very pleasant surprise to see pregnant Meghan wearing an entire outfit from her line.

Speaking on the talk show, Victoria described The Duchess of Sussex’s decision to choose her designs at Christmas as an honour.

The mother-of-four said: ‘She looked so beautiful. It was such a lovely surprise to wake up to on Christmas morning.

‘You know, I think she’s such a beautiful, strong and wonderful woman – so it was a huge honour!’

And during the Commonwealth Day service with the Queen at Westminster Abbey on 11 March 2019, the mother-of-two opted for a bespoke all-white ensemble by Victoria Beckham, complete with a chain-print dress, coat, bag and shoes, believed to have cost £9,000.

Meanwhile  Meghan even continued to wear the British designer following her move to the US, opting for a £570 pointed collar silk shirt as she made a surprise appearance on the season finale of America’s Got Talent.

Hours earlier, the mother-of-two wore the chestnut silk version of the Victoria Beckham shirt as she appeared alongside Prince Harry in her Time 100 video, where she encouraged US citizens to register to vote ahead of the November election.

The royal also wowed in a £950 turquoise figure-hugging dress as she made her first post-Megxit appearance at the Endeavour Awards in London alongside Prince Harry.

However fans will be surprised if they spot the Sussex ever wearing the designs again after the alleged fall out.
