Why were my bargain boots such big bother? | Money

Q During the pandemic we have probably all been tempted to buy online from unfamiliar brands. Blesher, a Spanish shoe company, advertised some stylish boots on Instagram at a discounted price. Being a tall gentleman, and the fact that these were available in a size 47 was tempting, I ordered the boots at £55.62 and paid £2.74 for shipping and insurance using my John Lewis Mastercard. The order was processed and acknowledged on July 25 and payment taken two days later.

The shoes were delivered by Royal Mail on August 8, but when I took the package from the postman I knew something was wrong because it was so small. It contained only a plastic bag with the shoes and a size 38 label. There
