Why you’ll have to pay more for parcels from the EU | Money

Delivery drivers are demanding huge sums on the doorstep before handing over parcels containing online orders sent from the EU.

Shoppers have been told to pay unexpected customs charges, admin fees and VAT bills if they want their delivery. While in most instances the demands are thought to be genuine extra costs as a result of Brexit, some shoppers were not sure if the demands were a fraud. Internet and mobile phone companies have been put on alert and are warning customers about criminals taking advantage of the confusion, after some had been bombarded with texts and emails about customs clearance charges.
