Wickford Royal Mail Delivery Office in Essex broken into just two weeks before Christmas

The Royal Mail delivery office in Wickford was broken into last night, less than two weeks before Christmas. The postal service was targeted, in the early hours of the morning, with the suspect allegedly taking an empty pot on the counter, used for tips.

A spokesperson for Essex Police shared: “We received a call shortly before 1.40am today (Thursday December 12) reporting a window and door to a business in Gibraltar Walk had been damaged. Access was gained and damaged was also caused to equipment inside.”

Police are appealing to the public to support them with their investigation. They added: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us. Please quote the crime reference number 42/186350/24.”
