Will Royal Mail post letters and parcels on a bank holiday?

Whether you’re waiting for an important parcel or you’re holding off on ordering something, here are the posting times for Royal Mail this bank holiday.

Several retailers and businesses, including supermarkets, temporarily alter their opening times on bank holidays, and Royal Mail is no different.

Will Royal Mail post letters and parcels on a bank holiday?

This Easter, in England and Wales, the bank holiday days are Good Friday and Easter Monday, taking place on April 18 and 21, respectively.

Royal Mail staff will not deliver or collect post on Good Friday or Easter Monday this year.

However, post will be delivered on Saturday, April 19, as normal, with parcels being delivered on Easter Sunday, April 20, as it’s not considered a bank holiday.

Deliveries in Scotland are slightly different, with households able to receive usual post deliveries and have post collected on Good Friday.

Easter Monday is the same in Scotland as it is in England and Wales, so collections and deliveries will not go ahead.

Normal post will continue on Tuesday, April 22 in England, Wales and Scotland.
