Wiltshire companies closing for the Queen’s funeral

Multiple well-known stores will be closing across the country out of respect for the Queen’s funeral taking place tomorrow (September 19). 

While some companies have made the decision to close all day, there are multiple that will open again for their customers after the funeral has taken place. 

Morrisons supermarkets will remain closed all day, however the petrol stations will open at 5pm. 

Similarly, Asda will reopen at 5pm after remaining closed all day. Both Sainsbury’s Local and Tesco Express, will also open at 5pm however their large stores shall remain closed all day.

Aldi and Lidl will both close all of their stores. 

John Lewis and Waitrose will close on the day with a very limited exception of the stores along the route of the procession. However, these will close for the funeral itself.

Fast food chain, McDonalds, will pay its respects by closing until 5pm. Greggs will remain closed all day.

Retailers such as Next, Ikea and Poundland will all close all day. In addition to being closed B&Q stores will suspend their click and collect systems.

The Royal Mail has announced its services will be suspended on the day of the funeral, along with a majority of their post offices being closed.
