Une carte postale non distribuée a finalement atteint sa destination, au Pays de Galles, 121 ans après avoir été postée pour la première fois.

It was sent in 1903, just over a century ago. In mid-August 2024, the Christmas-themed postcard was delivered to the Cradock Street branch of the Swansea Building Society in Wales, the BBC reports, as reported by The Independent.

The pretty card was addressed to a certain Miss Lydia Davies who used to live at this address. The agency staff are hoping to find some family members to deliver the mail to.

“I hope you are enjoying yourself”

The postcard is written by a certain Ewart who, addressing “Her, says “so sorry” that he cannot collect a “pair” of an unknown object. “I am very sorry, but I hope you are enjoying yourself at home”, he adds.

Ewart goes on to say that he has about ten shillings “pocket money, not counting the train fare, so I am doing well”. He ends his card by asking Lydia to “remember me to (Ms) Gilbert and John, with love from all”.

Lost for over 100 years ?

According to the Royal Mail, as cited by media outlet 324, it is likely that the card was “reintegrated” into its system rather than being “lost in the mail for over a century”.

The card was posted by the Welsh company that received it on social media, hoping to get help “to unravel this mystery”.
