Woman airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary after falling ill on cruise ship

A woman has been airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary after falling ill on a cruise ship.

Coastguard teams were called out to the ship off the East Yorkshire coast following calls late on Saturday evening.

Posting about the incident on its Facebook page, Hull’s Coastguard Rescue Team posted: “Team retasked from previous incident to man the landing site at Hull Royal Infirmary as HM Coastguard SAR helicopter was bringing in a female casualty from a cruise ship off the east coast.

“The team checked and secured the landing site and assisted transferring the casualty to the waiting ambulance.

“The team stood down and returned to station.”

The woman’s condition is not known at this stage.
