A London airport’s unclaimed lost luggage turned into an unexpected jackpot for fashion blogger and thrift shopping aficionado, Becky Chorlton, who took a punt by purchasing a suitcase for £130 through the website Undelivrd. The site is known for its sales of unclaimed Royal Mail and UPS parcels, returns from retail giants like Amazon and John Lewis, and even misplaced airport baggage.
Becky was astonished to find that her gamble paid off when she opened the suitcase to reveal a bounty including an iPad among other valuables.
Becky’s excitement was even greater when she spotted a pair of UGG boots among the contents. She shared her adventure on TikTok, saying: “I bought unclaimed lost luggage from London Heathrow Airport and here’s how it went. I’ll pop the listing up on screen now of where I got it from but this is what ended up arriving at my door.”
In her video, she also said: “If anyone recognises this suitcase then do let me know because I’d love to reunite you with all your belongings. Okay, so all the luggage they sell is unclaimed, apparently the airport do absolutely everything to track down the owner for months but unfortunately sometimes the only other option is to burn it which isn’t great for the environment or remove any personal info and sell it.”
She further commented: “This is actually my third time ordering one of these and let me tell you it’s definitely a risk but honestly, it’s so much fun. Once I’d taken off the black wrapping this is the suitcase that was underneath.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
“It was this pink one which was absolutely huge. It had this heavy sticker on the side and let me tell you, it was definitely heavy. I could barely even move it.”. As she reached the climax of her tale, she unzipped the luggage, adding: “Anyway, now it’s time for the moment of truth and to whack open the case to see what’s inside and here’s what I could see when I opened the case. It was absolutely jam packed full and I instantly spotted a pair of UGG boots which is absolutely crazy. Make sure you come back for part 2 where we go through each thing in this case.”
The fashion blogger’s TikTok reveal has gone viral, racking up an impressive 13.4 million views, 382,000 likes, and 1,168 comments. The clamour for ‘part 2’ was overwhelming, leading Becky to share a follow-up video delving into the contents of the suitcase.
In her sequel video, Becky said: “The first thing I ended up seeing were these black sparkly UGG boots. I have absolutely no idea if they’re real or not but they were brand new so who knows.”#
Considering that women’s UGG boots range from £135 to £270 at official retailers, with many high street shops offering similar styles, this was quite the find. UGG boots are coveted during the colder months for their snug fur lining and stylish suede finish.
Becky didn’t stop there, revealing more: “The next thing I saw were these Juicy Couture slides and then I spotted this box of Pokemon cards which is so random. I have no idea why you need to take them on holiday but there you go.”
Becky shared her astonishment, saying: “Next up I got two pairs of hair straighteners and then I spotted this Apple logo on this iPad which is absolutely mad. I plugged it in and the charging symbol and the welcome screen came up so I have no idea if it works or not but I’m feeling hopeful.”
She then unearthed a selection of women’s clothing from SHEIN, featuring an LA slogan t-shirt, pink hoodie, and black dress, alongside men’s toiletries, women’s makeup, baby Adidas trainers, and a toy tractor. The TikTok video sparked over 1,500 comments; one user guessed that the suitcase “belonged to a family on holiday.”
Another chimed in: “It’s crazy to think that a person would not get their luggage after packing their valuable items? Like what happened to that person? ” Some viewers figured the iPad’s owner could trace it back, while one empathetic user remarked they “would be sad losing this”.
Providing a travel tip, one wise commenter added: “Moral of this is always put an airtag in your luggage! “.
