Woman cyclist punched in face in Bristol Street attack horror

Police release CCTV image of man who may have information about rush hour assault at busy junction

A woman cyclist was punched in the face in a rush hour attack at one of Birmingham’s busiest road junctions.

She was attacked after stopping at traffic lights at the junction of Bristol Street and Belgrave Middleway, on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre.

It happened just after 4pm on November 25 last year. West Midlands Police today, Monday, April 14, released a CCTV image of a man who may have information.

The force said officers have not been able to identify a suspect despite “extensive enquiries” since last year.

The images released by police showed a man in a white hoodie with dark facial hair and a black outer jacket.

A Birmingham Police spokesperson said: “Do you recognise this man?“We would like to speak to him after a woman was punched while riding her bike in Birmingham.“The woman had stopped at a junction on Bristol Street, at its junction with Belgrave Middleway, when a man approached her on foot and punched her to the right side of her face causing redness and swelling.“The incident took place on November 25 last year shortly after 4pm.
