‘It would be so lovely if somebody knew where she was so I could write to her’
A Gloucester woman who moved to France is trying to get in touch with her friend who sends her a Christmas card every year.
Sandra Chubb, 78, who used to live in Forest View Road, says she receives a Christmas card from her friend Sylvia Provins every year.
She moved to Cornwall in 1996 before moving to France ten years later but kept in touch with Sylvia every time she returned to Tuffley.
However, since Ms Chubb moved home some years ago she still receives cards from her but cannot write back to her.
“I go back every now and then to England, but the last time I saw her was about 15 years ago,” she said.
“Every year we send each other Christmas cards, or at least we did, until she moved about five years ago.
“She told me she’d moved but didn’t give me her address so each year I get a Christmas card from her but can’t do anything about it.
“I know she is still in Gloucestershire. It hurts me that I think she thinks I’m not sending her a card.
“It would be so lovely if somebody knew where she was so I could write to her or even talk to her would be nicer.
“I just hate the thought she might think I’m not bothering, she was such a nice person, a lovely neighbour.”
