A killer from Herefordshire who was on the run from a secure hospital in Somerset after stabbing her mother to death has been recaptured by police. A large scale police hunt was launched after Laura Van Marle fled the secure unit where she was being treated in Wellington late last night (August 11).
Van Marle has been treated at the unit after stabbing to death her mother Susanna Van Marle at her home Finchers Corner in Cradley, Herefordshire, on September 26, 2020. Police have now confirmed that she was detained this morning (August 12) following a search.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: “We are pleased to confirm that Laura Van Marle has been located following an earlier public appeal to find her. She was detained by Avon and Somerset Police officers this morning, Saturday 12 August.
