World’s Oldest Man John Tinniswood Dies At 112

The world bid farewell to its oldest man, John Tinniswood, who passed away at the age of 112 at his care home in Southport, Merseyside. His family confirmed the news, stating he died surrounded by music and love. He had been celebrated as the world’s oldest living man since April 2024, following the death of the previous record holder, Juan Vicente Pérez Mora.

Born on August 26, 1912, the same year the Titanic sank, Tinniswood lived through multiple eras of history, becoming the UK’s oldest man back in 2020. His impressive longevity captivated people around the globe, partly due to his humility and personal reflection on aging; he often cited luck as the secret to his long life. “You either live long or you live short – and you can’t do much about it,” he once remarked.
