Write to Santa and get a personalised reply for 87p

There’s still time for youngsters to write to Santa and get a personal reply for the price of a stamp, if you’re quick. What’s more, it can even be delivered in British Sign Language (BSL) or braille.

The seasonal reminder comes from the team at Money Saving Expert (MSE), who warn that letters must arrive in Reindeerland by Wednesday, December 10. However, it’s best not to wait until the very last minute as the Big Man is rather busy at this time of year.

“The elves are busy making toys. The reindeer are practising their sleigh runs. And I’m busy preparing my list of who’s been good. I will be getting my sleigh ready for the long journey on Christmas Eve. In between I will try and reply to as many of you as possible,” wrote Santa on the Royal Mail website.

MSE point out that while the festive service isn’t completely free, children can send their letter for as little as 87p or go for speedier delivery at £1.70 first-class. They added: “Some companies charge up to £10 to reply to kids’ letters to Father Christmas.”

How to write to Santa

The Royal Mail said: “Tell Santa what’s on your Christmas list. Don’t forget to include your name and address, so Santa knows how to reach you. Santa can reply in English, Welsh or Braille.

“He’ll reply to letters from November 18. After that, Santa’s in full Christmas mode. So make sure your letter gets to him in good time,” reports the Mirror.

• Letters should be sent to: Santa/Father Christmas, Santa’s Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ with your your full name and address on the back of the envelope.
• Braille, large print and BSL replies can be arranged by emailing: santamail@royalmail. com

The Royal Mail included a note for parents: “Santa’s ready for those magical letters! Just remember – Mrs Claus loves stamps almost as much as Santa loves cookies. So make sure your child’s wish list has a real stamp before it heads to the North Pole!”

Santa says he’s looking forward to delivering presents on Christmas Eve. “Make sure you remember my mince pie and Rudolph’s carrot!” he added.
