A Lamborghini Urus that ploughed head-first into a Royal Mail van and left six people injured in a horror crash was hired by a group of teens to take them to prom, it was reported last night.

A letter sent to parents said that although some of the students were injured and there were no deaths, the Mirror newspaper reported.

Chilling dashcam footage caught the incident, where the blue supercar can be seen careering in and out of traffic on Royal Dock Road in Beckton on Tuesday. After running close a few times, the vehicle appears to pull out into the opposite lane to overtake and ploughs straight into the van.

Our staff have been in contact with the families of those students who were involved as passengers of the vehicle.

‘I can confirm that although there are some injuries to our students, thankfully there are no fatalities. This has been confirmed to me this morning by the Metropolitan Police.’

The voluntary aided school changed its name in 2020 during the George Floyd protests to remove the name of Sir John Cass due to his links to the slave trade.
