Mysterious ‘Green Pimpernel’ claims credit for spraying postboxes in Huddersfield after police manhunt demanded
The self-confessed ‘Green Pimpernel’ who has been busy repainting Royal Mail postboxes in the Huddersfield area has admitted to his guilt.
Although he is hiding behind anonymity, the so-called Yorkshire Banksy has written a garbled letter to ExaminerLive explaining his actions. So far several postboxes, mainly in the Lepton / Almondbury area have been repainted an apple green colour, but he has also repainted one on Imperial Road on the Marsh / Edgerton border- the area where it is thought he lives. The Royal Mail has been busy repainting them their traditional red.
The Pimpernel, thought to be an American, says he has “taken on the task of identifying dilapidated postboxes within Kirklees that have not seen a lick of paint for years, which I have been retiring to the original colour of green with a modern neon or turquoise twist. In its simplest form it is an artistic expression.” He has recently repainted two in Almondbury village and close to a cricket club on Kaye Lane.

We rang 23 dentists in Huddersfield and only one would take on a new patient
A staggering number of dentists in Huddersfield are not taking on any new patients due to a mounting crisis across the country.
Out of 23 dentists who were surveyed, only one was taking on any new adult NHS patients and even this dentist had a long waiting list. It was estimated there were around 4,500 patients currently on the list and the practice was only just admitting patients who had been waiting for two and a half years.
This practice was also taking in new children. Another practice was taking in children only.
But there were still 21 of the 23 surveyed which were not taking in any new NHS patients at all. According to the survey, this means more than 91% of practices did not have any current NHS availability.
