You can now order your Birds bakery cobs and pork pies to your door for Christmas

Birds bakery is now selling its products including pork pies and ginger bread men across the country for the first time with the launch of an online home delivery service.

Birds, which has 62 stores across the East Midlands including in Burton and Swadlincote, will be selling products including Christmas platters with its famous cobs and sandwiches which people can order.

The project is the company’s first move into the national distribution of its products, having become a major name in the East Midlands via its network of shops.

Sales and marketing director at Birds Mike Holling said: “We have become a household name in the East Midlands, so it only felt right to expand our offering to give people across the country a chance to try our range of handcrafted sweet and savoury products.

“Following the success of our home delivery and postal services, we wanted to launch a new hub where our existing and new customers could purchase all their favourite products.”

The store was founded in 1919 and has shops in Ashby, Branston, Burton, Lichfield, Melbourne, Stretton, Swadlincote, Tamworth and Uttoxeter.

Mike Holling added: “It is a great time of year for us and our teams are all fully prepared to ensure our customers receive their usual high level of service and delicious products.

“Our mission has always been to provide customers with the highest quality of cakes, pork pies and savouries, with a friendly and reliable service – and this has been reflected in our new online shop.”

The bakery will be offering pork pies and chocolate stocking fillers and lollies as well as sausages and macaron gift boxes on its online service. Customers can also get Christmas cake and Christmas pudding and mince pies in time for the festive season.
