But did you know that chewing gum can actually be recycled and be transformed into all manner of other products if you recycle it properly? And what’s more you can now recycle your chewing gum as you’re walking along the street Lincoln.
Gumdrop is trying to tackle the global problem of chewing gum litter and is the first company in the world that is recycling and processing gum into a range of new compounds that can be used in the rubber and plastics industry.
Recycled and processed chewing gum can be turned into a vast number of products including wellies, mobile phone covers, stationary and packaging.
A bright pink receptacles which have been designed specifically for the disposal of waste chewing gum haS now been placed in St Marks in Lincoln, near Caffe Nero.
Once it is full the waste gum is recycled and processed and the cycle starts again.
