The Foundation 92 Mobile Youth Zone began operating in the area in September, offering children and teenagers a fun and secure environment to meet.
The project was set up by the Family Liaison Officer for Greater Manchester Police and is designed to reduce anti-social behaviour by providing alternative activities for young people.
The mobile youth zone visits Bromley Cross for two hours at a time and gives children access to games, workshops and other organised activities.
Local councillor Samantha Connor said: “As we do not have a youth club provision in the area, this bus offers a great meeting place for young teenagers to meet safely with their friends.”
The initiative comes amid growing concerns about groups of young people gathering on local streets due to a lack of facilities and activities in the area.
Councillors say the bus gives them a safe alternative while helping to reduce disruption for residents.
Foundation 92’s unique Mobile Youth Zone visits bus stations, interchanges and bus stops across Greater Manchester to provide young people with a safe place to have fun during the evenings.
The converted bus contains a PlayStation 5, VR Gaming, Air Hockey, an Arts & Crafts station, a Kitchenette and more for young people to enjoy!
During these mobile sessions, the Foundation educates young people on the effects anti-social behaviour can have and supports young people to make the right choices and not engage in risk-taking behaviour.
The next session of the Foundation 92 Mobile Youth Zone in Bromley Cross will take place on Thursday, November 27, from 5pm to 7pm.
Cllr Connor previously said the bus will is parked near the library and Windsor Road Community Centre.
