YouTuber who’s visited every country in the world reveals the one place he’d never return to

A globetrotter who has journeyed to every country in the world has disclosed the worst place he’s ever visited. Drew Binsky, who shares his travel experiences with nearly six million subscribers on YouTube, revealed the location he would never revisit.

In one of his videos titled ‘Top five places where I felt the most unsafe as a traveller’, Drew named Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, as the most undesirable destination. He described the city as “miserable” and lawless, and home to Al-Shabab, an “offshoot of al-Qaeda”, making it a “very scary” place to visit.

The YouTuber stated: “Every time you leave your hotel, you have to have a convoy in the front and back with four bulletproof vest military guys sitting on the beds of each truck with huge AK-47s in their hand, scouting out the area before you go.”

The Foreign Office strongly advises against all travel to most parts of Somalia, recommending only essential travel to the northwest region.

The Government department suggests that those travelling from the UK should have a personal emergency plan that does not depend on the UK government, reports the Express.

There is a “very likely” risk of terrorist attacks, with Al Shabab conducting “frequent attacks” in Mogadishu. There is also a “high threat” of kidnapping and a “dangerous level” of criminal activity, including murders, armed robbery, and kidnapping.

Rounding off Drew’s list are Conakry in Guinea, Kandahar in Afghanistan, Port au Prince in Haiti, and Tripoli in Libya. He described Conakry as his “least favourite place in West Africa”, labelling it a “complete mess” that’s “very hostile”.

The YouTuber expressed that one can “feel the tension in the air” in Kandahar, noting that despite the “cool and traditional markets”, there is a “layer of intensity”, giving the impression that you’re constantly on edge.

He characterised Port-au-Prince as “total chaos”, stating “thugs control the area” and he had to bribe them. In Tripoli, Drew recounted “falling asleep to the sound of bombs” which caused his bed to shake.
