EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: There are further indications that King Charles is not coercing Prince Andrew out of the Royal Lodge to the smaller Frogmore Cottage

It would cost the monarch a tidy sum to make palatable for Andrew the move from a rent-free mansion to a residence costing him £360,000 in annual payments.

And the Crown Estate would have to reimburse him if they terminated his 75- year lease early.

Charles has also sustained the practice of his late mother allowing occasional meals to be ferried over to the Lodge from the Windsor Castle kitchens.

Andrew also receives help with the gardens and running repairs from castle staff. Not quite the actions of a King determined to make life difficult for his disgraced brother.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has become a devotee of Netflix series The Diplomat starring Rufus Sewell as the husband of a fictitious female US Ambassador who is seen wrestling with Sewell in the garden of her London residence Winfield House during the visit of the US President.

So smitten is Cleverly, according to the New York Times, he is filming a video for Netflix to promote the series.

Patsy Kensit, pictured, was profoundly disturbed by the hounding and tragic death of her friend Paula Yates, explaining: ‘That stemmed from having people banked outside my house, and being pulled to pieces and being bodyshamed for being too thin and then when I put on weight I was called ‘Fatsy Patsy’.

The headlines were awful, shocking.’ She adds: ‘I saw the Paula Yates documentary and I knew her really well. The whole thing was such a tragedy and it affected me.’

Daffy entertainer Jenny Eclair has described her failure to be asked to appear on Have I Got News for You as ‘barely veiled contempt for me and my work’.

‘I’m underestimated and patronised,’ she wails in Radio Times. ‘I’ve been patronised all my f****** career.’

Perhaps threadbare veterans Hislop and Merton fear Jenny might be funnier than them?

Disgraced entertainer Rolf Harris, who has died aged 93, made his last big telly appearance at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 – just months before his arrest.

His rendition of Two Little Boys was controversially cut short by fellow performer Sir Lenny Henry.

Anxious to clarify he’d been forgiven by Rolf, Lenny announced weeks later: ‘Rolf was brilliant. He wrote to me saying, ‘I love you. You’re great, we’re going to work together again’.’ Oh no they weren’t!

The late Martin Amis acquired his talent for mimicry from his dad Kingsley, according to Christopher Hitchens, who remembered Martin saying: ‘Dad, will you make some of your noises?’

‘Kingsley could ‘do’ the sound of a brass band approaching on a foggy day,’ recalled Hitchens.

An attempt by British soldiers to start up a frozen two-ton truck on a windy morning was for special occasions only.’
