Lions strong day on court

Mulwala 56 defeated Tocumwal 26.

A slow starting game but the girls soon settled into a great rhythm and stayed with their quick style of game.

Defensive pressure was solid all the way down the court, making it very hard for the opposition. Stephanie Hammond was solid in attack and was well supported by EJ Bond who played her calm, strong holding game with ease in the senior grade.

Well done girls, stick to the game plan.

Awards: Yarrawonga Toyota MVP – Stephanie Hammond, Miss Dolly – Lara Langford, Royal Mail Hotel – Stephanie Hammond.

B Grade

Mulwala 74 defeated Tocumwal 19.

A solid win for the B Grade girls, with the match plan being well executed for the whole four quarters. Well done to Mikayla and Leah for switching ends with ease.

The mid courters ran their opponents hard, creating great space and well-timed feeds to the goalers. A full team effort this week and it was a great game to watch.

The hard work at training is starting to show through with the system work. The play is flowing down the court with ease and the pressure forced many turnovers.

The Lions won 3 out of 4 quarters but unfortunately their jump start was too hard to reel back in. Excellent feeding by Simone and Abbey with great defence by Charli.

Awards: Mug – Simone Brown, Seeliger Real Estate – Abbey Matthews, Miss Dolly – Charli Bell.

Not the result the team wanted, however looking forward to this rematch.

Under 15s

Mulwala 36 defeated Tocumwal 16.

A strong start to the game with the girls being up by five at the first break. The defence end had great hands over pressure, which provided turnovers.

Lots of strong drives down the court and converting on the scoreboard saw the 15s with a great win.

Awards: Lake Mulwala Bakery – Charlotte Woosnam, Zambreros – Alannah Smith.
