All the Christmas jobs you can apply for now including Tesco, Morrisons and Aldi

As retailers urge shoppers to be more prepared than ever, we explain all the places – including supermarkets and Royal Mail – that are already hiring Christmas staff…

Tesco is the latest supermarket to confirm its Christmas job positions

Christmas may still be just over two months away but businesses are already starting to hire seasonal staff.

Supermarkets are usually exceptionally busy around December as families stock up on food and other treats.

But retailers have warned how shortages could hamper the festive season as the lorry driver crisis and record high gas prices continue to engulf the UK.

There are fears turkey, gammon and pig in blankets could be off the dinner table, while the boss of Iceland has warned how supply shortages could “cancel” Christmas.

But Tesco boss John Allan urged people not to panic-buy.

“There may be some shortages”, but people should not “over-dramatise” and panic-buy, he told the BBC.

It will take on a further 180 staff at its contact centres as well.

The seasonal roles are available now on fixed-term contacts of between three and 12 weeks, with staff working until January 8 next year.
