Bangor postbox make over will leave other towns ‘green’ with envy

A green postbox is set to be unveiled in Bangor on December 7.

Painted especially for Christmas the Royal Mail box has retained its red top, but the rest has been painted an emerald green colour with a huge red bow and and some Christmas motifs.

It also includes a message about “Santa and his elves” which says they “have visited a ail Centre where Royal Mail sort all of your cards and letters”.

“If you’ve just posted a special envelope addressed to Santa, scan the QR code to hear a special message from him.”

It is understood the box, on the town’s High Street is one of just a handful that have been given a festive make over for the festive season.

YMCA North Down also shared pictures of the make over, saying: “We’re absolutely loving the newly decorated festive post box right outside our front door – Santa’s elves have been busy!”

Rare Edward VIII cypher

They later took to social media to say “they may have ruined the big surprise” as the festive artwork had since been wrapped in black plastic and had a message posted on the front saying: “Sorry for the onconvenience.
