Brazen thief steals parcels from roof of postman’s van in Fleetwood

Police were called to reports of a theft in Eamont Place at around 12.25pm yesterday (Wednesday, August 12).

When officers arrived they discovered a brazen thief had attempted to steal two parcels that had been briefly left on the roof of a Royal Mail van.

The plucky postman attempted to chase the offender, who dropped one of the parcels during his getaway, but was unable to catch him.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “A man had taken two parcels placed on the roof of a post office van and made off from the scene.

“The postman chased the offender who dropped one of the parcels before running off.”

Anyone with information has been urged to contact police by calling 101, quoting log number 0669 of August 12.
