A British schoolgirl with learning difficulties has gone missing on a family holiday to Malaysia.

Nora Quoirin, 15, from London, was on a two-week ‘trip of a lifetime’ with her family at a resort near the Malaysian town of Seremban when she disappeared.

The teenager’s parents found her hotel room at the Dusun Resort empty with the window open on Sunday morning.

Her devastated uncle posted on social media today: ‘Any friends with connections in Malaysia pls get in touch if you think you can help in any way, my niece (Nora Quoirin, right) has gone missing in Seremban an hour or so from KL.

‘She is 15 with special needs, and hasn’t been seen since everyone went to bed last night.’

Nora, whose mother is originally from Belfast and father from France, is understood to have been travelling on an Irish passport, but has lived with her family in London for several years.

She is estimated to have been missing since midnight last night, with Malaysian police using sniffer dogs in their bid to find her.

It is not yet clear if Nora left her hotel room of her own accord or whether she was taken.

Family friend Catherine Cook said: ‘It’s out of character for Nora to go wandering off.’

She added: ‘I’m a mother and I burst into tears just hearing this story.

‘I cannot imagine the hell that they are living right now. I just ask for anyone who can help them to do so as soon as possible.

‘To my knowledge the French government and the Irish government are helping them and it would be great if other agencies or governments worldwide could support them.’

The town of Seremban is on the edge of a rain forest and around an hour south of the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpar.
