Catherine of Aragon shows grit, glamor and grace in Part Two of The Spanish Princess

A Tudor royal who wouldn’t look out of place on the Daily Mail: Catherine of Aragon shows grit, glamor and grace in Part Two of The Spanish Princess

Most of us know Catherine of Aragon only from her ill-fated marriage to Henry VIII, which rocked the British monarchy to the core when the king demanded a divorce.

But dig a little deeper and you’ll find that this Spanish Tudor wasn’t defined by her powerful husband. In fact, she was bold, glamorous, determined, and a fierce leader in her own right.

When The Spanish Princess returns to Starz next Sunday October 11, we will see Catherine of Aragon become Queen of England, taking the role she knew she was destined for.

Most of us know Catherine of Aragon as simply one of the six wives of Henry VIII, but the Spanish royal was actually a fierce leader in her own right

She’s not only a savvy politician, a practiced diplomat and a national treasure, but she’s proved herself to be a skilled military commander, protecting her adopted country in her husband’s absence.

This is despite the fact that her armor is covering a burgeoning baby bump as she prepares to give birth to Henry VIII’s first child.

Catherine of Aragon was arguably the most progressive thinking woman in the royal peerage, encouraging the women around her and empowering them to realize their potential as change makers.
