Child rushed to Hull Royal via helicopter after ‘falling from wall’

An injured child has been rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary after they reportedly “fell from a wall”.

A spokesman for the coastguard said police, the ambulance service and fire service were all in attendance at a location in the East Halton area in North Lincolnshire and said the incident was ongoing when they spoke to Hull Live at around 8.40pm on Saturday evening.

Shortly after, a helicopter could be heard over Hull.

“It’s an ongoing incident,” the spokesman said.

“It’s an injured child that has fallen off a wall, I believe.

“It’s been running since about 6.50pm, we got the call from East Midlands Ambulance Service.

“We are still in attendance. We are just going to transport the casualty to Hull Royal Infirmary.

“We have got Hull Coastguard, Cleethorpes Coastguard and the coastguard helicopter [out].

“We are just assisting the ambulance service.

“The Hull Coastguard team are at Hull Royal Infirmary waiting for the helicopter.”

A spokeswoman for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service also confirmed it is in attendance and was called shortly after 7pm.

She said: “We have got three appliances there and we are just assisting the ambulance service.

“We are still at the scene.

“We were sent to the East Halton area along the coast but we didn’t get a definite location.”

The spokeswoman confirmed a Tweet from the fire service, which stated that What3words had been used to help them locate an address to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service to rescue a “casualty” on the banks of the River Humber near East Halton, was the same incident.

The Tweet said: “CONTROL – @what3words used to help us locate an address to assist @EMASNHSTrust and @MCA_media to rescue a casualty on the banks of the River Humber near East Halton #RedWatch.”
