Two dented vehicles including a marked police car suffered damage at the dramatic conclusion to a “chase” through the city on Saturday afternoon.
The police car was damaged after an apparent collision with the rear of a silver Vauxhall near Hull Royal Infirmary.
One woman arriving at the hospital at just after 1pm on October 10 said she had seen around six police cars and an ambulance at the scene near to the junction between Anlaby Road and Argyle Street.
“On the road closest to the car park there was quite a big presence and at one point people weren’t being allowed to turn right on to that road,” she said.
An image has since emerged reportedly showing the conclusion of the dramatic incident, with several police vehicles surrounding the Vauxhall.
The vehicles appeared to have come to a halt in the box junction between Rawling Way, Anlaby Road and Argyle Street, with the marked and unmarked police vehicles enclosing the other car.
Now further eye witnesses have reported that the shocking scene had followed a “chase” through the city with armed police also reportedly involved.
One woman said there had been a chase “all the way down Boulevard”, several streets away.
Another added: “It’s quite scary around Hull at the minute.”
While the rest of the police vehicles subsequently left the scene, both the damaged police car and the silver Vauxhall were subsequently seen parked at the side of the road in Argyle Street with an unmarked police car guarding the scene.
