Driver dies after A2 crash with Royal Mail lorry near Gravesend

A driver has died after a fatal crash on the A2 this morning (August 5). The incident, which involved a black BMW and a red Royal Mail articulated lorry, happened near Gravesend at around 9.50am.

Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the Londonbound carriageway between the Cobham and Gravesend East junctions. The driver was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions and six hours later drivers are still facing delays in the area. Emergency crews raced to the scene and the air ambulance landed on the road. Fire engines, police vehicles and paramedics were all pictured on the busy road, which is still shut.
