FedEx lays off 1,000 after drop in earnings (Winston-Salem Journal)

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — FedEx Corp. said yesterday that it has laid off 1,000 employees to meet job cuts that the company announced were coming after third-quarter earnings dropped 75 percent.
