As People reported, Queen Elizabeth II was forced to cancel virtual meetings on Tuesday, February 22, and Thursday, February 24, following news that she had tested positive for COVID-19 the prior Sunday.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, a royal insider revealed that the queen decided to postpone certain engagements as her voice was sounding a “little croaky.” Although, despite concerns surrounding the monarch’s health, the royal family is “confident she will make a full recovery” as the queen is being “constantly monitored.”
Although Her Majesty has taken a step back from royal duties while self-isolating at Windsor Castle, the queen still carved out time to hold a phone meeting with the U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday, February 23. Per People, the queen is also fully vaccinated. So, hopefully, the long-reigning monarch will be back to her best in no time.
