Islanders happier with postal service, survey shows

ISLANDERS are more satisfied with the Island’s postal service, according to the results of a survey.

Of the 3,500 people who responded to Jersey Post’s annual customer feedback survey, 84% rated the service as “good” or “very good” in 2025 – an increase from 77% in 2024.

Respondents also saw improvements in sending letters and parcels to and from the UK, with 55% of Islanders rating it “good” or “very good”, up from 34% last year.

To make improvements in its UK service, Jersey Post said it placed GPS trackers in mail to gain insights into delays, and “worked closely” with the UK’s Royal Mail service in a bid to improve delivery times, including switching mail centres where post was sorted.

Over half of the people who responded to the survey, which was mailed to every household in January, cited having a reliable service as a top priority.

Jersey Post group operations director Julie Thomas said the company was pleased with the results, specifically in the improvement of the UK service.

She said: “The hard work we put in last year to improve service to and from the UK has reduced delivery times, and has been noticed by our customers. We continue to collaborate closely with Royal Mail to improve services to the UK.”

Earlier this year, Jersey Post increased stamp prices for all letters but reduced the cost of sending parcels worldwide, citing changing consumer habits as the reason behind it.

The company said that stamp prices “were a concern” for Islanders, while the new, reduced parcel prices had been “well received”.

In the survey, over 120 postal workers were also identified by customers to have “gone above and beyond”.

Ms Thomas commented: “Our posties are much loved by our community, and are at the heart of Island life. It’s wonderful to read individual stories of how our team has helped Islanders.

“We’ll be thanking each and everyone named for their hard work and dedication to Jersey Post. They make us very proud.”
