Isle of Wight police investigate vehicle fires in Newport

Fire crews were called out at 11.50pm to extinguish several vehicles set ablaze in Little London, Newport, last night (Thursday).

Firefighters using breathing apparatus, foam and a hose reel jet, tackled fires to a BMW motorbike and a Dodge Nitro.

But two other vehicles — a Suzuki Grand Vitara and a Land Rover Discovery — were also damaged by fire.

Police say they were called at 11.58pm to a report of a suspected arson attack.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary on 101, quoting the crime reference number 44240133062.
