Last posting dates for Christmas 2022 deliveries for Royal Mail, Evri and Parcelforce

The mist from Bonfire Night has settled and companies are busy releasing their Christmas adverts – the festive period is hurtling full-speed towards us.

You might not be quite as eager to put up the decorations as TV star Stacey Solomon, but Christmas is quickly approaching and before we know it Mariah Carey will be our daily soundtrack.

If you’re planning on sending presents to friends and family by post, it’s wise to beat the festive rush. That’s especially important given Royal Mail will be striking in the lead-up to the big day.

A lot of people are wondering when the deadline for post to arrive for Christmas will fall. Here’s what the major postal firms are saying.

Royal Mail

Workers are striking over disputes on pay and working conditions after the announcement that 10,000 jobs will be axed. It means posties will be striking across the dates of November 28 and 30, as well as December 1 and 2.

According to Royal Mail, these are their last posting dates:

  • December 16 – Royal Mail Bulk Mail Economy
  • December 19 – 2nd Class, 2nd Class Signed For, Royal Mail 48
  • December 21 – 1st Class, 1st Class Signed For, Royal Mail 24, Royal Mail Tracked 48
  • December 22 – Special Delivery Guaranteed, Royal Mail Tracked 24
  • December 23 – Special Delivery Guaranteed with Saturday Guarantee

Evri

According to Evri, its last postal dates ahead of Christmas are as follows:

  • December 20 – Last day for courier collections

  • December 21 (midday) – Last send for standard parcels from a ParcelShop

  • December 22 (midday) – Last send for next-day parcels from a ParcelShop

Parcelforce

Last posting dates for Parcelforce customers varies based on whether someone is or is not an account holder. To have presents received by Christmas Day, the following deadlines apply:

Parcelforce says it expects “increased volumes” during the Christmas period and recommends that customers send parcels “as early as possible” to ensure delivery in time for Christmas.
