Woman taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary after being struck by bus on Hope Street in city centre

A man has been arrested and a woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a bus in Glasgow.

Police were called to Hope Street, at its junction with Sauchiehall Street, at around 2.30pm on Thursday after receiving reports of a collision.

Emergency services took a 59-year-old woman to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Her current condition is unknown.

Officers confirmed a 54-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.30pm on Thursday, November 10, police were called to a report of a woman struck by a bus on Hope Street at the junction with Sauchiehall Street.

“A 59-year-old woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

“A 54-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.”
