Man claims to hear eerie voices of ‘ghostly’ children in Essex’s secret nuclear bunker

A man claims that he overhead “unexplainable” voices from a man and children during a recent visit to the secret nuclear bunker in Essex. Tony Ferguson, 38, said he visited the bunker, in Kelvedon Hatch, on Saturday (August 26) when he experienced the bizarre encounter.

Mr Ferguson has previously visited the bunker and said he was left with “unanswered questions” having claimed to have heard “ghostly children”. Following his most recent visit to the bunker, this time without members of the public, he continues to find it difficult to explain some of what he heard.

When Mr Ferguson most recently visited, he was the only male and was joined by three women – including his wife. But despite being the only man present, Mr Ferguson claims the group could hear another male’s voice in the allegedly haunted bunker.

“In the tunnels we could hear a man calling out and I was the only man there. It seems to be mainly when we spoke about a man who died there in a cement accident.”

He added: “It sort of verified the experience from the first visit. We heard some banging noises too. The man who runs the site was not there, it was just us and we heard some footsteps and children too.”

Mr Ferguson has tried to find explanations for what he experienced but is none the wiser. He said: “The first time there we had the public there, so that could have been it [making noises]. But there was no reason this time around. We asked if it could be the outside world and we were told it was not that as we were so far underground.”

Mr Ferguson, who has been carrying out investigations into ghosts for more than a decade, said the nuclear is easily one of the most haunted he has visited.

He said: “This is definitely in the top ten haunted locations just because the experience that we encountered. I like to look for explanations for the bangs and things that we hear but I can’t do that for Saturday, I just can’t.”
