Meghan Markle’s paternal uncle says he’s given up hope of ever hearing from her again

Meghan Markle’s elderly uncles say they have given up hope of ever hearing from her again, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

Mike Markle, 80, confirmed that both he and his brother Fred have resigned themselves to the fact that the Duchess of Sussex has cut them out for life.

Speaking from his modest trailer-park home in central Florida, he told DailyMail.com: ‘I doubt I’ll hear from her again… even though I would like to.’

‘I don’t understand her, the way she’s treated her family. I’m not very fond of it.’

It’s the latest chapter in Meghan’s well-documented estrangement from the Markle side of her family, which includes her dad, Mike’s younger brother Thomas Sr, and her half-siblings.

In an interview around the time of the Duchess’s wedding to Prince Harry last year, Mike expressed his disappointment over not being invited to her Windsor Castle nuptials in May 2018.

A former US diplomat, he revealed he was the one who engineered a plum role for Meghan at the American Ambassador’s office as a press intern in Argentina when she was a teenager.

Despite suffering from Parkinson’s Disease and a frail heart, Mike said he ‘absolutely’ would have traveled to England to walk his niece down the aisle when her father announced he himself wasn’t fit to make the trip.

‘I’ve done more for her than others… I’ve probably done more for her than most have. I personally talked to the ambassador in Argentina for her,’ he said at the time.

‘I thought I would [get an invitation], but anyhow, I didn’t hear from her.’

More than a year on from the wedding – in which Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland was the only family member to be invited – Mike said his health continues to fail.

‘I’ve just had a new pacemaker put in, but my Parkinson’s seems to be holding itself in position,’ he said.

‘I haven’t suffered any seizures lately but my hands still shake. I’m not too bad.’

While Mike sadly confesses he also hasn’t heard from Meghan’s dad since Thanksgiving, he has a ‘strong relationship’ with his other brother, Fred, who lives two hours north in Sanford, Florida.

Despite living a reclusive life, Mike explains: ‘I talk to Fred once a month. Our relationship is strong. He never changes. We don’t talk about things to do with Meghan anymore. Fred doesn’t like much to talk about other family members.’

Meanwhile, the duchess and her husband Harry have been rumored to be planning a trip to the US to celebrate their first Thanksgiving together.

Los Angeles-born Meghan will jet across the pond just in time for November 28 to celebrate Turkey Day with the former actress’ yoga instructor mother Doria.

‘The duke and duchess have a full schedule of engagements and commitments until mid-November, after which they will be taking some much-needed family time,’ a royal source told the Sunday Times.

Following the LA trip, the family will return to the UK to spend the rest of the holiday season with Queen Elizabeth II in keeping with the tradition of Christmas at Sandringham in Norfolk.
