Families can hunt for 43 scarecrows based on the theme – Around The World In 80 Days.

The Scarecrow Trail, which is run by Golden Valley School Association (GVSA), starts on Saturday and will run until July 14.

Creative scarecrow designers have been encouraged to be inventive and use recycled and waste materials to build their characters.

A GVSA spokesman encouraged families to get behind the scheme to raise funds for the school.

They said: “The trail is open to everyone – all you need is a trail map showing the location of each scarecrow to see if you can find them all.

“Following the trail and trying to identify as many scarecrows as possible is a fantastic family activity.”

Maps are available for £2.50 from Coates House and Simply Green Zero Waste, in High Street, or the Royal Mail Delivery Office in Crown Glass Shopping Centre.
