NCSC Announces New CEO | SC Media UK

Richard Horne will take up the position in the autumn, joining from PwC.

Richard Horne has been announced as the next Chief Executive Officer of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

Horne joins the NCSC from PwC UK, where he currently chairs the Cyber Security Practice, and will take up the CEO role in the autumn. He was also managing director of cybersecurity for Barclays PLC, where in a secondment to the Cabinet Office for 2011, to help shape and drive the Government’s first Cyber Security Strategy.

Following former CEOs Ciaran Martin and Lindy Cameron, Horne will be tasked with ensuring the NCSC delivers its contribution to the UK’s National Cyber Strategy.

This will include increasing the UK’s cyber resilience, keeping cybersecurity at the heart of the UK’s approach to future technology challenges like AI and quantum computing, and making sure the NCSC continues to be able to manage the most critical cyber incidents affecting the UK.
