Officials still hope for new post office (The Eagle-Tribune)

METHUEN — An effort to bring a new, larger and more accessible post office to downtown Methuen is back. The city and the U.S. Postal Service are eyeing two downtown sites to relocate the post office when its lease at 272 Broadway expires in 2009. The city hopes to help the U.S. Postal Service secure a deal with a new landlord before it decides to extend its lease at the current site.
