Parking changes for late-night shoppers

Parking time limits have changed to make it easier for people to enjoy festivities in town in Guernsey.

The States of Guernsey said from Saturday until 7 January 2025 a number of two-hour parking spaces in St Peter Port would be extended to three hours.

The government said 114 spaces at North Beach had changed, as well as 145 spaces at Albert and the 98 at Crown Piers.

The 19 three-hour parking spaces on the Havelet Bay side of the Model Yacht Pond had changed to 10-hour-parking to “increase capacity for those working in town”, added the States.

Officials also said the S bus services which operates at 20:35 GMT has been delayed until 21:05 GMT on the late-night shopping evenings, which takes place every Thursday.

“These routes are the S1 to the north of the island, the S2 to the coast, the S3 to the west of the island and the S4 to the north of the island,” said the government.

It added that Petit Train offered a free park and ride service from 18:00 until 21:00 on the late-night shopping evenings between Sir Charles Frossard House and Stand A at the bus terminus near Picquet House.
