Pillar box in Inverness city centre turns purple

The purple post box outside Inverness Town House.

People using the post box outside Inverness Town House are no longer seeing red but a rather vivid purple.

Royal Mail has been tight-lipped so far but it has prompted curiosity among the public in the city centre.

Some are speculating the colour change could be linked to Mother’s Day later this month.

Inverness Business Improvement District manager Mike Smith said:

“If it is for Mother’s Day, I think it is good as it brightens up our lives in these difficult times.”
