Police make third arrest after stabbing of woman in Croydon home

Detectives investigating the murder of a pregnant woman and her unborn baby in Croydon, south London have arrested a third person.

A 25-year-old man is now being questioned by officers at a central London police station after being detained on suspicion of murder.

Kelly Mary Fauvrelle, a Royal Mail worker who was around eight months pregnant, was stabbed to death at a home in Croydon last month.

The 26-year-old’s baby, named Riley, was delivered at the scene but later died in hospital.

The attack took place in Ms Fauvrelle’s bedroom while her whole family was at home and relatives heard her screams at around 3.30am.

Two men were earlier arrested. One, aged 37, was released with no further action, while the second, aged 29, was bailed until next month.

A statement from Scotland Yard said: “On Thursday July 11, detectives investigating the murder of Kelly Mary Fauvrelle and her baby son, Riley, arrested a 25-year-old male on suspicion of murder.

“The male has been taken to a central London police station where he remains at this time. Enquiries continue.”
